About the organization
The Greater Austin Malayalee Association (GAMA) is a community organization in Austin, Texas that celebrates Malayalee culture, tradition, and togetherness. It hosts cultural events such as the annual Thiruvonam Onam celebration featuring authentic vegetarian Onam Sadya, Thiruvathira Kali, and cultural performances. GAMA brings the community together for family-friendly celebrations of Kerala heritage.
Services & Offerings
- Malayalam class 2025-2026Classes begin on 10/04/25. Class Category: Beginner- Enthusiastic students eager to learn the language Malayalam. No previous knowledge needed. Intermediate- Knows Malayalam alphabets; tries to coin words. Senior- Ability to read in Malayalam/graduated from 2025 intermediate class (need approval from previous teacher). Program Highlights: Beginner – Saturdays/ 10:00 AM CST, Intermediate- Saturdays / 10:00 AM CST, Senior- Saturdays/ 11:00 AM CST, Semester 1: October 4 – March 8.
